Lanford Howell was born on April 14, 1960 in Talbotton, Ga. to the parents of the late Emmanuel Howell and Mamie Lou Dixon Howell.
Lanford grew up and attended the public Schools of Taylor County upon completion on school he sought gainful employment and he found that with Thomaston Mills cooperation in Thomaston Georgia he worked there many years in the textile industry.
Lanford loved life and he worked hard and he played hard. Lanford had a splendid demeanor it was sure to reach anyone. His spirit of love and devotion for his family was unsurpassed. He will be remembered for his love of every sport season. His favorite pastime was watching sports on TV. When he was not engaged in sports he was busy with his scratch Match to win the Jumbo Buck Lottery Game.
As life matriculated for Lanford He would go on to find his real passion in life. Lanford had a calling to nature. He enjoyed the outdoors. Lanford was inspired to get into landscaping and was very good at it. It didn’t take him long for him to cultivate a regular clientele. His meticulous and skillful way of transforming one’s yard into a work of beauty was he’s gift.
It is said that in each life some rain must fall. Lanford was no stranger to life’s trials and tribulations; on the road of life Lanford experience some turbulence and this turbulence of life was in the form of a health challenge. Lanford face this turbulence as all Champion’s do with bravery. It was on September 2, 2024 that Lanford left it at all behind for a life of peace.
Those left to cherish Landford memory are: A loving daughter Quimanda Howell, his loving mother Mamie Lou Howell, Sisters: Catherine Howell, Mamie Florence (Tommy) Sanders, Mildred Barfield, Mary Ann Howell, Sarah Ann Taylor, Freda ( Cornelius) Coleman, Rhonda (Donnie) Bunkley, Shonda ( Joseph) Walker. Brothers: John Lee Howell, Larry Howell, Warren Howell, Raymond Howell. Two Grandchildren: Jaylen Gibson, Jayvian Howell. A devoted and supportive friend Bessie Ross Ellison. A devoted niece who was always there Lakeycha “Niki” Howell McDonald and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins other relatives and friends who will miss radiant spirit of kindness and peacefulness.
