Robert Lewis “Pump” Searcy

February 6, 1954 — September 29, 2024

Butler, Georgia

Robert Lewis  Searcy was born in Reynolds George on February 6, 1954 to the parents of the late Addie Searcy Heath and the late Alonza Lee Alexander Sr. He grew up and attended the public schools of Taylor County. It was during early adolescence he decided if he was to make it in life, he had to pave his own road; so Diesel auto mechanics peeped his interest. The more he tampered with cars and learned how they worked he went on a journey of repairing them it was on that journey he perfected his craft and became a noted and well respected mechanic of his trade. He worked for Cox Brothers Trucking before branching out and erecting his own garage. He built an unprecedented clientele by word of mouth as the good word got out about his skills.

“Pump” as he was affectionately called was no different than any other man. He loved good music to inspire the soul, he loved to grill on the open pit grill, known for his famous grilled pork neck bones, ribs and fried fish. He also found peace and tranquillity during his moments at the pond fishing. “Pump” was known to cut a rug at any given time, he loved life and lived it to the fullest. When not engaged in those activities he would be found building engines and racing cars which was his passion.

“Pump” had been a cancer survivor for years. He never allowed his situation to dictate his destination in life he just kept fight that good fight each day he live. As know to human mankind negativity will get on your trail and Pump had another battle he had to fight but he traded it all in for a life of peace on Sept 29, 2024 at Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center in Macon, Georgia.
