Willie Walter “Pookie” Lee

Willie Walter “Pookie” Lee was born to Mattie Floyd Lee and Clarence “Tody” Lee on October 27, 1951 in Reynolds, Georgia. He grew up an attended the public schools of Taylor County.

 After his years of living in Reynolds he set his sails for Miami, Florida where he would make that his home. In his formative years he enjoyed working in the ship yards on the coast of Miami. He found so much solace in working on the cruise lines that took many families on wonderful excursions. As time went on he joined himself with the Walmart family and worked toward a more just and friendly world.

 It is said in each life some rain must fall. Pookie too face his days of rainy sky’s. But he never let that hold him down. As his health began to fail. He decided to move back to his roots in Georgia to be close to his family who he loved and adored.

Pookie walked into  life’s sunset on Saturday night May 18, 2024 at Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center Macon, Georgia. Pookie is survived by One brother Robert E. “Key” Lee, Roberta, Ga. two sisters Ida Lee (Willie) Raines Reynolds, Ga. Finnie Lee Davis of Fort Valley, Georgia. Two sister-in-laws Gracie Lee, Gaye Lynn Lee and a host of neices, nephew, cousins other relatives and friends.

Pookie was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Rosa “Lowe” Lee, Roosevelt “Bubba” Lee, Howard Lee, Edward “Butch” Lee, Pearlie “Beaver” Lee Carson, Clarence Lee, Jr.
